Reliability Engineer Job Description

This role involves leading initiatives to ensure the performance, availability, and safety of industrial assets. As a Reliability Engineer, you will be responsible for developing technical maintenance strategies based on failure analysis, optimizing preventive and predictive plans, and promoting continuous improvements.

  1. Develop and apply methodologies such as RCM (Reliability-Centered Maintenance), MFMEA, and failure analysis to enhance asset reliability;
  2. Design and review preventive and predictive maintenance plans, establishing schedules based on equipment criticality;
  3. Manage the technical stock of critical parts, defining minimum and maximum parameters, and conducting technical evaluations of components and suppliers;
  4. Monitor and improve maintenance performance indicators (MTBF, MTTR, availability);
  5. Create and update technical standards, operational routines, and maintenance instructions;
  6. Ensure the efficiency of computerized maintenance management systems;
  7. Serve as a technical reference for the field team, providing training and ensuring procedure standardization;
  8. Perform benchmarking, technical visits, and research for technological updates in the area;
  9. Utilize reliability analysis tools, maintenance management software, and technical performance indicators, working in accordance with technical standards and engineering best practices;
  10. Collaborate with operational, engineering, planning, and supply teams to promote structured and sustainable continuous improvement actions;
  11. Ensure the efficient and safe operation of industrial assets, reduce failures and maintenance costs, increase equipment availability, and strengthen a culture of reliability and operational excellence.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • A degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Production Engineering, or related fields;
  • Proven experience in maintenance engineering or reliability;
  • Knowledge of RCM, MFMEA, failure analysis, and maintenance indicators;
  • Proficiency with tools like SAP PM, Maximo, or other maintenance-focused ERP systems;
  • Knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance plans and technical standards;
  • Skills in technical data analysis, indicator management, and report preparation;
  • A postgraduate degree or certification in Reliability Engineering or related areas is desirable.
