Role Overview

The primary function of the QA Test Lead position is to spearhead and provide testing services to clients, utilizing industry standards and best practices to fulfill TTC's customer needs. The QA Lead will collaborate to establish and refine the overall QA process. This role also involves mentoring QA team members on methodologies, strategies, frameworks, and other technical elements. Additionally, the QA Test Lead may support general application management of production systems, fostering relationships with business stakeholders, software vendors, auditors, and other internal IT teams.

The ideal candidate will possess strong technical acumen and exceptional leadership abilities, demonstrating diplomacy, motivation, and influence. Success in this role requires a proactive, strategic mindset, with the capability to engage in hands-on tasks as necessary.

Key Responsibilities

  • Consult with clients on the design and execution of comprehensive testing activities that meet testing objectives and ensure sustained product quality throughout the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Provide guidance on all QA aspects, including the establishment of metrics, application of industry best practices, and development of new tools and processes to achieve quality targets.
  • Create, plan, execute, and maintain test cases, scripts, plans, and protocols for products in development.
  • Engage in the deployment of enhancements, upgrades, and significant implementations.
  • Conduct User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to validate the complete business flow.
  • Identify and pursue opportunities for test process enhancements, focusing on continuous improvement that delivers value to external customers.
  • Establish and refine formal QA processes, ensuring the team adheres to best practices.
  • Act as the primary contact for all QA-related aspects of releases, delivering QA services and coordinating internal and external QA resources; maintain strong relationships with key customer stakeholders and manage their expectations.
  • Collaborate with project management to achieve testing milestones and deliver high-quality solutions punctually.
  • Lead, collaborate, and mentor QA team members; share domain knowledge to enhance the overall capabilities of the group.

Technical Skills Required

  • Familiarity with SAP modules: FIORI, MM, PM, SD, FICO, PP/QM, BW, EWM, BPC, APO, or others (highly preferred).
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills; ability to effectively convey information to internal and external team members.
  • Leadership qualities; capability to guide and mentor a team of QA professionals.
  • Independence; ability to work autonomously and meet project deadlines within established constraints.
  • Experience with the software development lifecycle (SDLC), including business planning, data analysis, process design, requirements analysis, use case analysis, application/system design, development, testing, and implementation.
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills to identify and recommend solutions that meet requirements.
  • Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail to evaluate information from multiple sources, assess risks, resolve conflicts, distill high-level information into detailed insights, prioritize user requests based on true business needs, and design solutions that align with existing requirements.
  • Time management and organizational skills; ability to execute and complete assigned projects within the agreed-upon time, scope, and budget.
  • Experience in Agile and Waterfall development methodologies.
  • Knowledge of large-scale SAP deployment, implementation, support, and/or upgrade projects (highly preferred).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Information Systems, or Computer Science.
  • 7+ years of experience in Software Development and Quality Assurance, including User Acceptance Testing, Functional Testing, Performance and Scalability Testing, Manual and Automated Testing; UAT experience is required.
  • 3-6 years of SAP Functional Testing experience (highly preferred).
  • ISTQB Certification.
