
Labor Relations Attorney

This position is responsible for providing legal advice, interpretation, and representation in a broad range of labor law issues. The successful candidate will represent the university in collective bargaining negotiations, legal proceedings, arbitration, and mediation.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in labor relations, with experience in drafting policies and guidelines, reviewing collective bargaining agreements, and providing guidance on labor regulatory and compliance matters.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing legal advice and representation in labor law matters
- Representing the university in collective bargaining negotiations and legal proceedings
- Drafting and negotiating commitments involving university resources
- Providing guidance on labor regulatory and compliance matters
The selected candidate will be expected to work independently and as part of a team to achieve the goals of the university.
Required Skills and QualificationsTo be considered for this position, candidates must have:
- A Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school
- At least 5 years of post-J.D. legal experience, including 3 years of substantial labor relations experience
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Membership or eligibility for membership in the District of Columbia Bar
