Talent Management Role

This is a great opportunity to develop your skills in talent management and contribute to the success of our team.

We are seeking a professional who can proactively manage a population of consultants across various offices and practices. The ideal candidate will be able to balance the needs of the business with the preferences, career goals, and development needs of the consultants.

  • Use performance management processes to engage consultants on their development needs and areas for training
  • Develop relationships with each consultant and become a trusted advisor
  • Assist consultants in accessing resources for career advice
  • Escalate employee relations issues or questions around general human capital operations
  • Monitor work-life-quality issues and escalate when necessary
Key Responsibilities:
  • Talent Management:
    • Engage consultants on their development needs and areas for training
    • Develop relationships with each consultant
    • Direct consultants towards resources for career advice
    • Escalate employee relations issues or questions around general human capital operations
  • Project Staffing:
    • Understand the nuances of the type of work / roles being filled
    • Liaise with project team leaders to understand staffing needs
    • Collect details from partners and practice group TMs on projects to be staffed
    • Anticipate capacity issues and manage consultants' and partner expectations
    • Communicate staffing outcomes to consultants in an empathetic manner
  • Consultant Development and Performance Management:
    • Understand performance management frameworks and competency models
    • Coordinate with the learning and development team on appropriate training
    • Read performance appraisals and follow up on issues / performance flags
  • Data, Analysis and Reporting:
    • Review weekly utilization reports and cross reference with systems
    • Assist with assembling the project pipeline and consultant availability reports
    • Help prepare documents and exhibits for senior leadership meetings
    • Assist with analyzing performance outcome results
    Requirements:
    • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience
    • 3-5 years of relevant professional experience in a fast-paced client services environment
    • Management consulting and/or human resources experience preferred

The ideal candidate should have excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to tailor messages to fit the audience. They should be self-motivated and proactive, able to prioritize or reprioritize as needed. Comfortable working with data (Excel, PowerPoint, enterprise resource management software) and a strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy is required to juggle multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.
