Technical Engineering Leadership Role

At a leading payment experience provider, we're on a mission to deliver exceptional service for Brazilian consumers and small businesses. We're seeking an experienced Technical Engineering Leader to join our remote team and help us achieve our goal of delivering the best payment experience in Brazil.

Main Responsibilities

  • Determine squad objectives and project goals, ensuring alignment with the company's broader strategies and objectives.
  • Foster communication within the team and across technical and non-technical teams, guaranteeing alignment and timely delivery of high-quality outcomes.
  • Actively participate in the recruitment, training, and development of team members, promoting a productive and growth-oriented environment.
  • Collaborate with other technical leaders, aligning technology strategies and contributing to the evolution of the company's technical direction.
  • Evaluate the technical quality of deliverables, providing guidance and support in solving complex problems.
  • Promote the adoption of AI-assisted engineering practices within your team and chapter, leveraging tools for code generation, automated refactoring, test case creation, and technical documentation.

Qualifications

  • Academic background oriented toward computer science, engineering, or software development disciplines.
  • Proven track record of leading teams and working in product-driven companies.
  • Hands-on experience in backend (Java, Spring Boot, Kafka, PostgreSQL, AWS) and optionally frontend development, with a track record of delivering scalable systems.
  • Experience in Python is a plus.
  • Experience with asynchronous programming.
  • Experience working with domains of medium to high complexity.

Essential Skills

  • Ability to clearly communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, facilitating alignment and decision-making.
  • Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with Product Managers, Product Owners, Squad Leaders, Designers, and other teams, tribes or squads in defining priorities and delivering value.
  • Experience mentoring engineers, guiding career development, and fostering a growth-oriented, high-performance team environment.
