Senior Credit Researcher - Latin America

This is an opportunity to work as a senior credit researcher in our Debtwire Credit Research Team.

We are looking for a seasoned professional with expertise in credit research analysis, financial statement review, and legal document examination. The successful candidate will produce high-quality credit reports on stressed, distressed, and restructuring companies, utilizing their analytical skills to provide unique insights and valuation analysis.

  • The primary task involves reviewing financial statements, annual reports, and other relevant documents to prepare detailed credit research reports.
  • Collaborate with subscribers electronically and personally to discuss credit and macro analysis, providing timely and accurate information to support informed investment decisions.
  • Additionally, the candidate will assist in special reports, ad-hoc projects, and conference attendance as needed, fostering strong relationships with management and IR teams of covered companies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Produce comprehensive credit reports that include financial and valuation analysis of high-yield, distressed, and stressed companies.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including subscribers, management, and IR teams, to provide exceptional customer service.
  • Contribute to special reports and ad-hoc projects, leveraging expertise in credit research analysis and financial statement review.
  • Represent the team at conferences and company investor days, promoting the value of our debtwire services and building strategic partnerships.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in credit or equity analysis, with a proven track record of producing high-quality research reports.
  • Natural curiosity and drive to analyze complex situations, coupled with tenacity in obtaining information from various sources.
  • Excellent understanding of financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • A thorough grasp of debt and equity securities markets, including bankruptcy processes, and valuation techniques such as waterfall and DCF analysis.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of fixed-income analytics, including Z-spread and duration calculations.
  • Fluency in Portuguese and/or Spanish (highly preferred).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word, with excellent writing skills and ability to communicate complex ideas in a clear and concise manner.
  • Experience in writing reports in English and working in a team-based environment, with a focus on collaboration and cooperation.
  • Ability to manage workflow under strict deadlines, prioritizing tasks effectively to meet project requirements.
