Engineering Manager Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Engineering Manager to lead our team of product-experienced engineers responsible for applications, tools, and infrastructure that drive our security products.

Main Responsibilities
  • The successful candidate will manage, grow, and support a team of engineers to develop cutting-edge features that improve customer insight and usability of the hCaptcha product platform.
  • They will work closely with engineers, scientists, stakeholders, and domain experts to come up with and execute on unique solutions that contribute to fraud detection and mitigation.
  • The Engineering Manager will mentor and guide engineers to grow in skill and knowledge, allowing them to make informed decisions given the right tools and context.
  • They will participate in code and architecture design, contribute to feature development, and maintain high-quality standards via peer reviews and mentorship.
Requirements
  • A minimum of 8 years of professional experience in software engineering with a focus on product development is required.
  • At least 2 years of leading or managing engineering teams is necessary.
  • Extensive experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, React, and Python is essential.
  • The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience developing applications that leverage the latest web technologies, including Canvas, WebGL, and WebWorkers.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills in building a high-performing and highly engaged engineering team are a must.
