Job Summary
The MSA Business Development Leader role is responsible for leading strategic partner initiatives and execution against new revenue streams, growth, and development across Visa's most strategic Merchants partners and prospects.
This individual will be expected to manage cross-functional teams and drive business growth through strategic partnerships, revenue expansion, and market development.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Partnership Development
Develop and execute customized account plans to increase revenue volumes with strategic accounts and grow our market share in the Brazil market.
Business Development and GrowthDirectly lead and contribute to the business development team success, growth & development by prospecting, identifying, and closing new opportunities and clients.
Customer Understanding and EngagementDevelop a strong understanding of customers' businesses including their payment strategy across all product platforms.
Subject Matter ExpertiseServe as a dedicated partner/MS&A Subject Matter Expert and field-level liaison aligned to special projects &/or strategic initiatives as defined by leadership.
Consultative Sales ApproachUtilize a consultative sales approach that ensures clients' business objectives are met and their payment performance metrics are maximized.
Market Expansion and DevelopmentSupport the expansion of Visa MS&A by matching Visa objectives and solutions to partners' business development plans.
C-Level Relationship BuildingBuild and nurture C-level relationships across key targets to solidify position and commitment to new prospects and/or partner relationships.
Performance Metrics and TrackingDevelop, track, and execute against monthly, quarterly, and yearly revenue targets (KPIs) & other performance metrics as per the Annual Operation Plan (AOP).
Key Metric Analysis and PrioritizationIdentify and analyze key metrics, trends, and opportunities to ensure a disciplined approach to prioritization and decision-making.
Contract Negotiation and ManagementManage contract negotiations and align with multiple internal and external stakeholders.
Strategic Alignment and PrioritizationUnderstand Visa's broader corporate strategies to facilitate prioritization of business development initiatives aligned to product roadmap priorities.
Go-to-Market Strategy FormulationWork with leadership and cross-functional peers to formulate and execute go-to-market strategies across each of the identified strategic initiatives.
Cross-Functional CollaborationCollaborate across Visa's many functional business units to drive greater awareness and value to the portfolio.
Account Planning and HuntingAccountable for developing account planning and hunting new opportunities with new stakeholders in the client.
Local Executive Visibility and Team ManagementGive local executive visibility of the Brazil pipeline and manage 1 Sr Manager – Hunting FTE to support driving the goals of the Merchant Sales team in Brazil.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications: 10 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or at least 8 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters/ MBA/JD/MD) or at least 3 years of work experience with a PhD.
Preferred Qualifications: 12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or 8-10 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 6+ years of work experience with a PhD.
Experience working with Digital players: Acquiring, Merchants, Payment Facilitators, and/or issuers.
Experience developing, implementing, and tracking key strategic plans.
Ability to work independently and engage multiple levels of management mainly with the Regional team.
Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with senior internal and external stakeholders.
Ability to identify key strategic issues/pain points in advance and deliver creative solutions.
Results-oriented, self-motivated, and possess a strategic mindset.
Strong collaborator with ownership and a proactive approach to lead change.
