Job Title: Applications Specialist

This role involves the preparation of fragrance applications in different bases and providing technical support to meet the needs of creative and development teams, sales teams, and external customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate activities of the application lab, including preparation of samples for internal and external customers and definition of priorities.
  • Prepare fragrance applications in different bases meeting the needs of creative and development teams under guidance, ensuring quality, precision, and accuracy thereof.
  • Participate in technical support activities to Creation and Development teams, Sales teams, and to external customers by applying diverse knowledge.
  • Act as point of contact in the lab for specific customers/projects across categories.
  • Administration of sample requests and ordering of fragrance oils.
  • Perform physical-chemical measurements.
  • Write and help in updating and revising of technical documentation in the department, under guidance.
  • Formulation preparation of internal bases.
  • Perform colour matching and recommend dyes as per client request.
  • Operate and help maintain standard lab equipment.
  • Record and communicate results accurately and promptly.
  • Management of customer base inventories and project submission retained application samples.
  • Assist in the administration of materials and laboratory organization.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly laboratory environment.
  • Mentor and assist other junior technicians, trainees, and others.

Additional Requirements:

  • Provide occasional technical support to Creation and Development teams, Sales teams, and external customers by applying diverse knowledge.

Qualifications:

  • Degree or Higher Education qualification in Chemistry, Pharmacy, Chemical Engineering or similar subject.

Professional Experience:

  • At least 5-7 years lab experience in related area.
  • Understanding of laboratory techniques as applied to perfumery.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Applications.
  • Can Speak and understand English.

Technical Skills:

  • Knowledge of good laboratory practice and safe handling of chemicals.
  • Strong Technical knowledge of fragrances and relevant fragrance product categories, formulation, and application.
  • Accurate record keeping and attention to detail.
  • Olfactory ability.
  • Chemistry knowledge.
  • Perfumery knowledge.
  • Understanding of ISO protocols.
  • Very good knowledge of lab equipment and its safe usage.
