Senior Highway Engineer and Project Manager

This role is a pivotal position within the Transportation Division, responsible for overseeing complex highway engineering projects.

The ideal candidate will possess experience in managing multi-faceted projects, coordinating with cross-functional teams, clients, and regulatory agencies.

Responsibilities include preparing documentation, reviewing agency submissions, and ensuring compliance with PennDOT standards.

  • Oversee the planning and execution of high-profile highway engineering projects
  • Collaborate with project teams, clients, and stakeholders to achieve project objectives
  • Develop and implement strategies to ensure successful project delivery
  • Lead quality control processes for roadway geometry, pavement marking plans, grading plans, traffic control plans, drainage and erosion control plans & reports, permits, and project cost estimates and specifications
  • Provide expert technical guidance and mentorship to engineers and technical staff
  • Drive business growth through effective budget management and proposal development
  • Nurture client relationships with public and private entities

Key Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated expertise in PennDOT design criteria and principles
  • Proven ability to plan, coordinate, and execute all phases of an engineering design project
  • Working knowledge of MicroStation software
  • Efficient use of engineering software and tools
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering; Master's degree preferred
  • Minimum 8-12 years of relevant work experience
  • Professional Engineer licensure in Pennsylvania
  • Basic computer skills, including proficiency in MicroStation and AutoCAD
  • Familiarity with current design standards and industry best practices
