We are seeking a Geotechnical Engineer to undertake site assessments and analyses to ensure the stability of areas before construction begins.

The Geotechnical Engineer will examine soil, check underground water flow, and conduct laboratory tests to confirm the suitability of sites for building projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conducts field investigations to determine soil stability and rock formations
  • Ensures surface safety and durability for building projects by conducting thorough site inspections
  • Carries out laboratory tests on items, studying properties and producing detailed reports
  • Ensures adherence to safety quality standards throughout the project lifecycle
  • Inspects foundations, observing drilling activities and reviewing work plans to ensure compliance with design specifications
  • Presents project risks and makes recommendations to mitigate potential issues
  • Performs geostructural analysis and design of waterfront structures to ensure their stability and integrity
  • Interprets field test data and estimates soil engineering properties to inform design decisions
  • Assigns lab tests and interprets results to provide accurate information for project stakeholders
  • Estimates deep foundation capacities to ensure they can support the weight of buildings and other structures
  • Designs bulkheads, retaining walls, and floodwalls to protect against environmental hazards
  • Develops plans and specifications for geotechnical engineering projects
  • Resolves design problems through field investigation and inspections, working collaboratively with architects, engineers, and scientists
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or relevant experience
  • 4+ years of experience in geotechnical engineering
  • Professional Engineer licensure in Brazil (CREA)
  • Proficiency in geotechnical software packages, including AutoCAD and Microsoft Office
  • Strong understanding of ACI, AISC, AASHTO, IBC, NDS, and other design codes
