Job Description

The Associate Director plays a vital role in coordinating, implementing, and evaluating interventions for student success at RIT. This position serves as the primary point of contact for workflow, troubleshooting, and process improvements associated with outreach and interventions informed by predictive modeling.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work collaboratively within the University Advising Office team to drive coordination of interventions for student success.
  • Partner with colleges, the Registrar, Institutional Research, Access, Engagement & Success, and Student Affairs to inform interventions using student success data.
  • Document measurable results of improvement efforts and communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Develop business practices related to access to information, communication of information, and risk management concerns.
  • Build and maintain an inventory of student success interventions across RIT colleges and map them to risk factors they seek to address.

Collaboration and Communication

The Associate Director will work closely with university partners to develop strategies and solutions for student success initiatives. Effective collaboration and communication skills are essential for this role.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in leadership and management in student success and support initiatives in higher education.
  • Strong leadership skills with ability to build collaborative relationships among constituency groups.
  • Effective consensus building skills and ability to motivate cross-functional teams related to student success initiatives.
  • Excellent communication (interpersonal and written) skills with significant experience in student success initiatives.
  • Ability to analyze data and utilize results to inform decision-making.
Education and Work Experience

MS or MA degree required. Hybrid – Remote/On-campus work arrangement available.
