As a Trade Development Manager, you will be responsible for identifying and cultivating ocean freight business opportunities within defined trade lanes. Your primary focus will be on external sales activities, monitoring the market to acquire new ocean freight business in your assigned geographical area.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive revenue growth for ocean freight products in your designated trade lane by establishing strategic relationships with clients and partners.
  • Coordinate local tender and spot rates to ensure optimal pricing and maximum profitability.
  • Plan and execute targeted sales visits to existing and prospective customers to drive business development and expand market share.
  • Manage the sales pipeline in various stages, including lead generation, prospecting, negotiation, offer creation, and contract closure.

Other key responsibilities include entering sales data into CRM systems, managing outdoor opportunity pipelines, account ownership for external sales customers, building internal and external networks, conducting portfolio performance reviews, and negotiating contracts with clients.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Foreign Trade, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum 4-5 years of experience in freight forwarding and ocean sales roles.
  • Advanced English language skills.
  • Knowledge of logistics and routes.
  • Strong teamwork and integrity skills, with a customer-focused approach.
