We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled professional to join our team as Managing Director for the Southern Cone Region. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for driving business growth and achieving impact targets in the region.
The ideal candidate will have a strong track record of successful business development, deep knowledge of the countries in the region, and strong relationships with private sector companies operating in the area.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement regional business strategies to achieve impact and business targets.
- Provide guidance and oversight to Country Representatives, supporting their strategic, tactical, and operational responsibilities.
- Oversee business performance from a regional perspective, working closely with Delivery Units to originate, structure, and supervise transactions.
- Shape country strategies from a private sector perspective, working closely with Country Representatives.
- Identify, promote, and execute synergies with IDB and IDB Lab.
- Manage operational, human, capital, and budgetary resources at the unit level.
Requirements:
- At least 10 years of relevant experience as a banker with a proven business track record.
- Master's degree (or equivalent advanced degree) in Economics, Finance, Business Administration, Law, Engineering, or another relevant field.
- Proficiency in English and one of the other Bank's official languages (Spanish, French, or Portuguese) is required.
- There are no citizenship requirements.
- Consanguinity: No family members (up to the fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB, IDB Invest, or IDB Lab.
