Job Summary

The Trade Compliance Associate position plays a critical role in maintaining Lubrizol's global operations by ensuring compliance with trade regulations and implementing trade programs that drive business growth. This role collaborates closely with cross-functional teams, including Information Technology and Supply Chain, to achieve these objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the annual free trade campaign activities, including soliciting, auditing, and processing long-term vendor declarations (LTVDs).
  • Collect and prepare reports for duty payment, month-end closing, and other periodic reporting, as well as populate tracking documents as needed.
  • Review and process invoices for payment of duties, broker fees, and other trade-related expenses.
  • Manage administrative tasks related to customs procedures, including duty drawback, bonded warehouses, duty suspension, Intrastat reporting, and more.
  • Follow established procedures to release order holds in SAP for low-complexity import or export controls.
  • Review customers and vendors flagged for potential denied party screening hits and release or escalate as necessary.
  • Evaluate the use and sourcing of conflict minerals, providing certification letters to customers upon request.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Experience using SAP Global Trade Services (GTS).
  • Basic understanding of import and export processes, as well as critical data elements.
  • Ability to learn audit processes, systems used, and compliance requirements.
  • Broad knowledge of global free trade regulations.
  • Moderate knowledge of Excel and basic understanding of ERP systems, including system controls and export regulations.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and time management.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, Logistics/Supply Chain, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
