Job Summary

This role is responsible for procurement and commodity management for indirect spend categories, including chemicals, packaging, logistics, freight, general services, and more.

The successful candidate will participate in cross-functional teams and support the procurement team with sourcing implementation plans.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Implement sourcing strategies for all indirect categories.
  2. Work with process partners to gather and assess requirements.
  3. Manage relationships with suppliers.
  4. Track and report commodity performance metrics.
  5. Develop internal and external category profiles.
  6. Develop and implement supplier evaluation criteria.
  7. Review supplier responses to requests for proposals.
  8. Develop bid packages and administer RFP/RFQ/RFI processes.
  9. Assess supplier capabilities and recommend shortlists of suppliers.
  10. Build total cost of ownership (TCO)/supplier ranking matrices.
  11. Resolve issues between suppliers and process partners.
  12. Develop fact-based briefs for supplier meetings.
  13. Implement sourcing contracts.
  14. Identify and communicate supplier diversity opportunities.
  15. Oversee transactional order placement.
  16. Recognize and communicate potential supplier development opportunities.
  17. Develop alternative sourcings on categories.
  18. Ensure continuous supply of goods and services to plants.
  19. Manage technical purchases of indirectly sourced goods.
  20. Analyze historical spend data and budget to define category strategy.
  21. Operationally manage all spend, including purchase orders, follow-up, and contract administration.
  22. Partner with internal customers to understand business needs.
  23. Understand market forces, research, and evaluate vendors.
  24. Apply purchasing process flows in line with category strategy.
  25. Define particular terms and conditions.
  26. Negotiate proposals and finalize contracts.
  27. Manage contracts.
  28. Support supplier relationship management.
  29. Drive continuous improvements in cost and service of assigned sourcing categories.
  30. Monitor results in spend reduction and savings.
Scope:
  • All Brazil.
  • Might require up to 10% travel to factories in the respective region depending on priorities and ongoing projects.
Qualifications:
  • Degree in business administration or engineer degree in a technical field.
  • Solid experience in indirect spend purchasing, preferably in food/pharmaceutical/chemical industries.
  • Experience in large-scale transformation projects or enterprise PMO functions.
  • Language: English written and spoken fluently.
  • Knowledge in SAP.
  • Knowledge of Brazilian tax system for purchasing activities.
