Indirect Spend Category Manager

This position oversees the procurement and commodity management for indirect spend categories, such as Chemical, Packaging, Logistics, Freight, General Services, and Indirect on scope. The Indirect Spend Category Manager will participate in cross-functional teams and support the Indirect Spend Manager with sourcing implementation plans.

• Develop and implement sourcing strategies for all indirect categories on scope.
• Collaborate with multiple stakeholders to gather and assess requirements.
• Manage relationships with suppliers.
• Track and report commodity performance metrics.
• Create internal and external category profiles.
• Establish supplier evaluation criteria.
• Review supplier responses to requests for proposals.
• Develop bid packages and administer RFP/RFQ/RFI processes using a 7-step methodology.
• Evaluate supplier capabilities and recommend a shortlist of suppliers for bid lists.
• Build a Total Cost of Ownership (TCO)/supplier ranking matrix.
• Resolve issues between suppliers and stakeholders.
• Develop fact-based briefs for supplier meetings.
• Implement sourcing contracts.
• Identify and communicate supplier diversity opportunities.
• Oversight of transactional order placement.
• Recognize and communicate potential supplier development opportunities.
• Develop alternative sourcing options for categories.
• Ensure continuous supply of goods and services to plants in scope.
• Manage technical purchases, including maintenance, facility management, spare parts, and equipment.
• Analyze historical spend data and budget to define category strategy.
• Operational management of all spend, including purchase orders, purchase order follow-up, contract and invoice follow-up.
• Partner with internal customers to understand business needs.
• Stay up-to-date on market forces, research, and evaluate vendors.
• Apply purchasing process flows aligned with category strategy.
• Define specific terms and conditions.
• Negotiate proposals and finalize contracts.
• Manage contracts.
• Support supplier relationship management.
• Drive continuous improvements (cost and service) of assigned sourcing categories.
• Monitor results in spend reduction and savings.
• Monitor and implement KPIs to track process and team performance against company targets.

• All Brazil.
• May require up to 10% travel to factories in the respective region depending on priorities and ongoing projects.

• Degree in Business Administration or Engineer degree in a technical field is preferred.
• Experience in indirect spend purchasing, preferably in the food/pharmaceutical/chemical industries.
• Experience in large-scale transformation projects or enterprise PMO functions.
• Fluent written and spoken English.
• Knowledge of SAP and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Familiarity with Brazilian tax systems for purchasing activities.
