Procurement Professional Job Description

As a Procurement Professional, you will play a vital role in managing the procurement and commodity management of indirect spend categories.

  • We are seeking an experienced Procurement Professional to develop and implement sourcing strategies for various indirect categories.
  • The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and be able to build strong relationships with suppliers and process partners.
  • Key Responsibilities:
  1. Implement sourcing strategy for all indirect categories on scope.
  2. Work with multiple process partners to gather and assess requirements.
  3. Manage relationships with suppliers.
  4. Track and report commodity performance metrics.
  5. Develop internal and external category profile.
  6. Develop and implement supplier evaluation criteria.
  7. Review supplier responses to Requests for Proposals.
  8. Develop bid packages and administer the RFP/RFQ/RFI using 7 steps methodology.
  9. Assess supplier capabilities and recommend a short list of suppliers for bid lists.
  10. Build a Total Cost of Ownership (TCO)/supplier ranking matrix.
  11. Resolve issues between suppliers and process partners.
  12. Develop fact-based briefs for supplier meetings.
  13. Implement sourcing contracts.
  14. Identify and communicate supplier diversity opportunities.
  15. Oversee transactional order placement.
  16. Recognize and communicate potential supplier development opportunities.
  17. Develop alternative sourcings in its categories.
  18. Ensure continuous supply of goods and services to plants in scope.
  19. Manage technical purchases of indirect categories (maintenance, facility management, spare parts, forklift, etc.).
  20. Analyze historical spend data and budget to help define category strategy.
  21. Operationally manage all spend, including placing purchase orders, PO follow-up, contract and invoice follow-up.
  22. Partner with internal customers to understand business needs.
  23. Understand market forces, research, and evaluate vendors.
  24. Apply purchasing process flows in line with the category strategy.
  25. Define particular terms and conditions.
  26. Negotiate proposals and finalize contracts.
  27. Manage contracts and support supplier relationship management.
  28. Drive continuous improvements (cost and service) of assigned sourcing categories.
  29. Monitor results in spend reduction and savings.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in procurement and/or supply chain management.
  • Proven track record of successfully implementing sourcing strategies.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
