Position Overview: As a Senior Business Intelligence Consultant, you will collaborate closely with a solution architect to design and implement advanced business intelligence and analytical reporting solutions. Your role will focus on business strategy, intricate data modeling, report design, and advanced analytics, including machine learning and data science. Proficiency in ETL/ELT processes is essential, along with extensive expertise in Microsoft Power BI. Experience in business strategy is highly desirable, and familiarity with additional data technologies such as Azure Machine Learning, Azure SQL Server, Data Lakes (e.g., ADLS Gen2), Synapse Analytics, Azure Cognitive Services, and Azure Data Factory will be advantageous.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish and nurture sustainable relationships with clients, gaining insights into their needs and challenges to implement effective solutions through Cambay Consulting services.
  • Articulate project vision, architecture, and strategy to clients, driving transformation and innovation within medium to large organizations.
  • Support business development efforts by defining project requirements, developing estimates, and assisting in the completion of the Scope of Work (SOW).
  • Demonstrate a commitment to meeting client needs, ensuring satisfaction and delivering excellent results that foster additional opportunities within client accounts.
  • Conduct thorough needs analysis and gather client requirements, successfully installing, configuring, deploying, and customizing Cambay Consulting Solutions for various clients.
  • Mentor and guide junior staff in project work and their professional growth.
  • Create and execute testing protocols to validate that solutions meet SOW specifications, ensuring projects align with Cambay Consulting best practices.
  • Exhibit leadership on projects of varying sizes, assisting team managers with project identification and task assignments as necessary.
  • Maintain accurate weekly timesheets in compliance with time reporting procedures.

Personal Attributes: The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal skills, high energy and enthusiasm, integrity, flexibility, and a results-oriented mindset. Resourcefulness and problem-solving abilities are crucial, along with the capacity to manage demanding situations and prioritize effectively.

Technical Skills: Candidates should have a solid understanding of technical concepts, with proficiency in ETL/ELT processes, Power Query, DAX languages, and complex data modeling. Experience connecting to various data sources, both cloud-based and on-premises, is essential.

Data Management Experience: Preference will be given to candidates with experience in creating and managing Data Lakes, Azure Synapse, and Data Warehouses.

Supervisory Experience: A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in relevant areas is required, including:

  • ETL/ELT Development, with knowledge of when to utilize Power BI for data transformation versus dedicated tools like Azure Analysis Services and Azure Synapse Analytics.
  • Experience with Data Lakes, Synapse, and Fabric is highly beneficial, particularly for those who have built solutions using these key enabling technologies.
  • Proficiency in writing, tuning, and optimizing Power Query and DAX to create efficient data models.

Educational Background: A Bachelor's degree in Data Visualization, Machine Learning, Data Science, Computer Science, or Management Information Systems (MIS), or a related field is preferred. A Master's degree is a plus.
