Senior Fragrance Applications Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Fragrance Applications Technician to join our team.

This role will involve preparing fragrance applications in different bases and providing technical support to meet the needs of our creative and development teams, sales teams, and external customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate activities of the application lab, including preparation of samples for internal and external customers and definition of priorities.
  • Prepare fragrance applications in different bases meeting the needs of our creative and development teams under guidance and ensure quality, precision, and accuracy thereof.
  • Participate in technical support activities to Creation and Development teams, Sales teams, and external customers by applying diverse knowledge.
  • Act as a point of contact in the lab for specific customers/projects across categories.
  • Administer sample requests and order fragrance oils.
  • Perform physical-chemical measurements regularly.
  • Write and update technical documentation in the department under guidance.
  • Prepare internal bases formulations.
  • Match colours and recommend dyes according to client requests.
  • Operate and maintain standard lab equipment.
  • Record and communicate results accurately and promptly.
  • Manage customer base inventories and project submission retained application samples.
  • Assist in laboratory administration and organization.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly laboratory environment.
  • Mentor and assist junior technicians, trainees, and others.

Requirements:

  • A degree or higher education qualification in Chemistry, Pharmacy, Chemical Engineering or similar subject is required.
  • At least 5-7 years of lab experience in a related area are necessary.
  • Understanding of laboratory techniques as applied to perfumery is essential.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Applications is also required.
  • Fluency in English is necessary.

Technical Skills:

  • Good laboratory practice and safe handling of chemicals are crucial.
  • Strong technical knowledge of fragrances and relevant fragrance product categories, formulation, and application are necessary.
  • Accurate record keeping and attention to detail are essential.
  • Olfactory ability is required.
  • Chemistry knowledge is necessary.
  • Perfumery knowledge is also required.
  • Understanding of ISO protocols is essential.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Givaudan-specific software applications is necessary.
  • Very good knowledge of lab equipment and its safe usage is required.
