Job Description

A high-priority opportunity exists for a skilled Payroll Specialist to oversee the accurate and timely processing of payroll. This role involves managing payroll administration and accounting processes to ensure efficiency and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

  • Maintain critical payroll controls and procedures to guarantee the accuracy and timeliness of payroll processing.
  • Assist in overseeing all aspects of wage attachment processing.
  • Evaluate payroll administration and accounting processes regularly to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Prepare payment requests for third-party payroll liabilities other than taxes.
  • Execute pre- and post-processing audits to validate payroll accuracy and make adjustments promptly.
  • Enter and release off-cycle payments as needed.
  • Collaborate with the Tax Department, FM&C, and HR team members on payroll matters.
  • Serve as the Tier 3 authority for payroll inquiries and cases referred by the HR Shared Services Center.
  • Handle various payrolls for active corporate employees, retirees, and those with disabilities.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in payroll functions.
  • Ability to function as a working lead processing payroll and as backup for vacation and/or high-volume periods.
  • Strong focus on customer service and partnership with HR Shared Services Center.
  • Ability to manage sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality.
  • Highly autonomous and self-motivated with sound judgment and initiative.
  • Strong mathematical aptitude; highly analytical with attention to detail.
  • Effective communicator with the ability to correspond verbally and in writing across multiple constituencies.
  • Accomplished interpersonal and time management skills to prioritize multiple projects.
Benefits

This position offers a competitive hourly rate of $35.00 per hour on a W-2 basis.
