Health and Safety Professional

We are seeking an experienced Health and Safety Professional to provide guidance to our project team, ensuring that all projects are delivered in accordance with Brazilian health and safety regulations and meeting client requirements.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Producing, reviewing, and approving HSE plans in accordance with legal and client requirements.
  • Reviewing and assuring legal compliance topics, such as risk assessments, legal audits, and claims from local authorities regarding site safety labor inspections.
  • Supporting existing site safety teams to maintain reporting regimes for Health and Safety statistics.
  • Implementing and reviewing client global safety policies, ensuring that local legislative requirements are met.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Construction field experience (Commercial corporate and/or industrial sites).
  • Fluent English desired.
  • An in-depth understanding of Brazilian Health and Safety legislation.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills.
  • Able to effectively lead and manage a H&S team.
  • Good IT skills to generate reports and documents.
  • Excellent Client empathy.
  • Solutions driven.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Construction field experience (Commercial corporate and/or industrial sites).
  • Fluent English desired.
  • Flexible approach to work, while always managing your own priorities and workload, being a self-starter and team leader.
  • Able to effectively lead and manage a H&S team.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills: you're also result-oriented and tenacious.
  • Comfortable communicating at all levels of seniority within a large organization.
  • Possess an in-depth understanding Brazilian Health and Safety legislation.
  • Quickly build credibility, using your influencing skills and strategies to build buy-in for change.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) - Essential.
  • Capacity to deliver trainings.
  • Ability to effectively plan and organize own workload to meet deadlines - Essential.
  • Good IT skills to generate reports and documents.
