Senior Health Safety and Environmental Advisor

We are seeking a Senior Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) Advisor to join our HSE Division in Rio de Janeiro. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in HSE with experience in risk assessments, incident investigations and HSE program management.
Key Responsibilities- Regulatory Compliance: Stay updated on local, state and federal health, safety and environmental regulations and ensure compliance with relevant laws and standards.
- Risk Assessment and Management: Conduct risk assessments, develop strategies to mitigate risks and prevent incidents.
- HSE Policies and Procedures: Develop, implement and enforce policies; communicate and ensure understanding and adherence.
- Training and Education: Develop and deliver training programs; create educational materials and promote awareness.
- Incident Investigation: Lead investigations into accidents and incidents; implement corrective actions.
- Emergency Response Planning: Develop and maintain plans; organize drills and exercises.
- Inspections and Audits: Conduct inspections; address identified issues.
- Data Analysis and Reporting: Analyze data; prepare reports for management and authorities.
- Collaboration with Departments: Work with operations, engineering, HR to integrate HSE considerations.
- Environmental Management: Manage environmental programs; implement impact reduction strategies.
- Communication: Communicate HSE issues; foster safety culture.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify improvement opportunities; stay informed on best practices.
This role requires 5+ years of experience in health, safety and environmental roles, especially in oil and gas, infrastructure construction, with experience in risk assessments, incident investigations and HSE programs in Brazil. Occupational Safety Technician qualification per Brazilian legislation (NR4) is required. Lead Auditor ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 certifications are also necessary.
Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare or Environmental Science is mandatory.
