Teaching Assistant

The role of a Teaching Assistant is to provide support to Head Teachers in teaching classes, preparing content and managing students in school environments.

  • Responsibilities:
    • Provide support in the classes, sharing with the Head Teacher the guidance to students in the activities to enhance learning;
    • Assist the Head Teacher in the distribution and collection of materials etc;
    • Participate in the implementation of didactic-pedagogical projects by the school;
    • Keep the classroom organized with the materials requested by the Head Teacher;
    • Be responsible for decorating walls, doors, tables and bulletin boards around the school;
    • Adapt activities for students with special educational needs;
    • Ensure safety, constantly staying with students, in any activity, observing, guiding and interfering when necessary, to avoid possible accidents. Keeping this stance comprehensively to all school students;
    • Receive students at the entrance and exit of the school, paying attention to safety standards and delivery only to the person in charge;
    • Accompany students at meal times, ensuring that everyone eats well;
    • Be responsible for managing the class in times of absence or temporary unavailability of the Head Teacher;
    • Record student activities through videos and photos and send them to the Head Teacher, within the previously established deadline, without disturbing the dynamics of the room;
    • Participate in Academic Meetings, educational conferences and development workshops to keep and improve professional competence;
    • Attend school events open to families;
    • Follow school guidelines (Language Policy, Teachers' Handbook, Assessment Policy).
