SA Regional Demand Planning Lead

Ball Corporation, a world leader in manufacturing sustainable aluminum packaging, is seeking an experienced Demand Planning Manager to lead all forecasting efforts.

This role oversees a team that integrates insights from sales, marketing, finance, and other functions, driving demand planning within the SIOP process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develops demand forecasts at multiple levels of aggregation for multiple time horizons, including near-term executional demand control, 24-month rolling operational forecast, yearly AOP, and five-year strategic plan.
  • Leads a team responsible for reviewing historical sales trends, researching demand drivers, preparing forecast data, reviewing statistical forecast models, integrating market data, and evaluating forecast results to determine the monthly Consensus forecast.
  • Cross-functional research activities are coordinated to reconcile significant variances and refine the forecast model to reflect updated Sales and Marketing assumptions.
  • A collaborative and consensus approach is used by working with Sales, Marketing, and Finance to obtain and ensure current and accurate information is used for demand forecasts.
  • Significant variances to prior forecasts are identified for discussion during the monthly IBP demand review process.
  • The Demand Planning software is utilized as the primary forecasting system tool, with the systems expert serving on all projects.
  • Required reporting, such as accuracy metrics and projections, is developed and maintained to assist in the Consensus process.
  • Interfaces with Commercial and Customer Fulfillment Teams to ensure customer-provided forecasts and input are incorporated into the Consensus plan.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, business, or related field.
  • Solid experience in supply chain demand planning.
  • Forecasting and analytical expertise.
  • Leadership and team management.
  • Strategic and scenario planning.
  • Utilization of advanced planning systems.
  • Advanced level of English language proficiency.

Knowledge:

  • ERP and Supply Chain planning systems functionality and their benefits.
  • Industry trends to identify innovative solutions and drive best practices for the business.
  • Familiarity with continuous improvement processes such as lean and Six Sigma.
