HIV/AIDS and Viral Disease Control Specialist
About the Position:This is a key opportunity for a highly skilled professional to contribute to controlling HIV/AIDS, viral hepatitis, and sexually transmitted infections in the region.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead technical support and collaboration in planning, development, implementation, and monitoring of strategies, programs, and projects related to HIV/AIDS, viral hepatitis, and STIs;
- Support project preparation, document development, and report generation on HIV/AIDS, VH, and STI initiatives;
- Collaborate with national authorities to strengthen institutional capacity in eliminating HIV/AIDS, VH, STIs, and vertical transmission among vulnerable populations through evidence-based interventions, capacity building, and partnerships;
- Represent the organization in various settings, promoting PAHO's leadership in health;
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in a health science with specialization in public health or a related field;
- Five years of experience in public health, with expertise in project management, program implementation, and disease control;
- Proficient knowledge of Portuguese with working proficiency in English and Spanish;
- Demonstrated ability to utilize current technology effectively.
