Senior Employment Counsel Position

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced employment law counsel to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of employment law in Brazil and LATAM, with experience in advising on a broad range of employment matters.

  • This role involves providing expert advice on employment law issues including hiring practices, employment contracts, terminations, benefits, workplace policies, and employee relations.
  • Evaluating company compliance with local, regional, and international employment laws and regulations is also a key responsibility.
  • The successful candidate will draft, review, and negotiate employment agreements, consultancy contracts, and other related legal documents.
  • Managing employment disputes and litigation, coordinating with external counsel as needed, is an essential part of this role.
  • Developing and updating internal policies and procedures to reflect current legal requirements and best practices is also required.
  • Providing training and guidance to HR and management teams on employment law matters and compliance is another key aspect of this position.
  • Maintaining awareness of changes in employment legislation and advising on potential impacts to the business is crucial.
  • Handling cross-border employment matters, including expatriate arrangements and global mobility programs, requires strong expertise.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge of employment law in Brazil and LATAM, preferably with experience dealing with international labor regulations.
  • Ability to advise on a broad range of employment matters and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating employment agreements, consultancy contracts, and related documents.
  • Experience managing employment disputes and coordinating with external counsel.
  • Ability to develop and update internal policies and provide training on employment law and compliance.
  • Experience monitoring changes in employment legislation and assessing impact to the business.
