Brazil Country Program Director

The Nature Conservancy is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to fill the critical role of Brazil Country Program Director. This individual will be responsible for leading the organization's conservation efforts in Brazil, aligning them with the organization's global goals and objectives.
Key Responsibilities- Strategic Leadership: Provide visionary leadership to the Brazil Country Program, setting the long-term direction for conservation efforts and ensuring alignment with the organization's global goals.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with government agencies, NGOs, indigenous communities, private sector entities, and local communities to advance conservation efforts.
- Program Management: Oversee the development and implementation of conservation programs, ensuring effective management of resources and achievement of measurable progress.
- Team Leadership: Manage and develop a team of professionals, fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment that encourages innovation and excellence.
- Fundraising and Resource Management: Secure funding through fundraising and effectively manage budgets to support conservation efforts.
- Partnership Building: Cultivate and manage partnerships with private groups, non-profit organizations, community groups, and government agencies to advance conservation goals.
- Industry Expertise: Stay up-to-date with current trends and practices within relevant fields and geographic regions, applying this knowledge to inform conservation efforts.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Relevant Industry Experience: 10+ years of related experience in a leadership role, including 7 successful years in a similar position.
- Multilingual Communication: Fluency in written and verbal Portuguese and English, with proficiency in Spanish welcome.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Proven ability to connect and deliver messages to diverse audiences, including donors, board members, employees, external partners, and others.
- Resource Management: Experience in securing funding through fundraising and effectively managing budgets.
- Industry Expertise: Up-to-date knowledge of current trends and practices within relevant fields and geographic regions.
- Partnership Building: Proven ability to cultivate and manage partnerships with private groups and non-profit organizations, community groups, and government agencies.
- Program Leadership: A successful track record in directing major programs of strategic importance, including managing and supervising multi-disciplinary teams to achieve impactful results.
- Managerial Expertise: Demonstrated managerial excellence through adept budgeting, strategic staffing, and comprehensive performance management initiatives.
