Key Responsibilities

Hexagon's Asset Lifecycle Intelligence division is in search of a Senior Industry Consultant within our Americas team, dedicated to enhancing industrial plant operations.

In this pivotal role, you will serve as a strategic advisor, providing an exceptional opportunity to influence and implement strategies and solutions tailored for the industrial plant operations sector. Your expertise will facilitate engagements with industry leaders, ensuring alignment with their corporate objectives to explore how Hexagon can assist in transforming their enterprises. You will collaborate with account teams to identify and address specific challenges faced by our clients. Your thought leadership will be instrumental in tackling the most significant issues within the industry. Furthermore, you will devise methods to monitor customer impact and leverage your experience to refine the Hexagon engagement model, thereby amplifying the value proposition of Hexagon's industrial plant operations.

You will excel in leading discussions with senior executives regarding their business aspirations. This position requires collaboration with cross-functional teams throughout program delivery and development, encompassing business development, solutions architecture, marketing, partnerships, professional services, sales enablement, sales operations, and international teams.

The Senior Industry Consultant is a seasoned leader in managing processes within major operational facilities, such as refineries or chemical plants (experience in offshore operations is also welcomed). This role involves consulting to capture, comprehend, and interpret client needs, proposing a strategic plan for the application of Hexagon's solutions and methodologies. You will conduct thorough evaluations and assessments of clients' business practices, workflows, and technical environments, providing recommendations based on Hexagon's offerings.

The ideal candidate will possess knowledge in one or more of the following domains:

  • Maintenance and Reliability/Integrity Management
  • Shutdown / Turnaround / Outage Management
  • Plant Operations
  • Job Safety and Risk Analysis
  • Operational Excellence
  • Startup, Shutdown, and Operating Procedures
  • Management of Change and PSSR

Required Qualifications

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a confident and articulate speaking ability.
  • Over 10 years of experience in the operations of production facilities (refining, chemicals).
  • Comprehensive understanding of operations and maintenance processes.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements impacting operational plants.
  • Experience in Job Safety, Risk Assessment, and PHA/HAZOP Analyses.
  • Proficiency with information systems relevant to operating plants, including maintenance, asset management, reliability, and process historians. Involvement in software implementations is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of digital technologies is essential.
  • At least 5 years of experience collaborating with competitor solutions in a similar capacity or equivalent experience with consulting firms serving the industry.
  • A degree in Engineering/Business or equivalent qualifications/experience.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all organizational levels.
  • Strong presentation skills, including experience with C-Level presentations and customer engagement.
  • Maintain a high level of technical knowledge regarding industry-related Hexagon solutions by staying informed about new developments, products, research, and concepts.
  • Stay attuned to market trends and technical advancements.
  • Coordinate sales opportunities with Industry Marketing and Key Account Management teams.
  • Keep field teams updated on industry technology and best practices.
  • Identify and provide input on industry-specific needs for sales tools, technical materials, and promotional campaigns.
  • Assist in developing sales strategies and messaging that align with Hexagon's Sales Methodology, guiding prospects through the buying journey.
  • Lead vision workshops to identify new market opportunities and areas where Hexagon can provide support within the industry.
  • Provide subject matter expert support for industry initiatives, marketing events, and speaking engagements.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience leading technology project implementations in the industrial operations sector, either as a vendor or enterprise user.
  • Familiarity with software development practices and infrastructure concepts, including cloud computing and analytics, is highly desirable.
  • Experience in sales within the technology sector, particularly targeting plant operators, is preferred.
  • Analytical and data-driven mindset, demonstrating a balance of strategic planning and execution skills.
  • Business-oriented with an understanding of the complexities within large IT environments.
