The Talent Manager will be responsible for managing a population of ~60 consultants across the organization's offices and Practices. This role will require delicately balancing the needs of the business alongside the preferences, career goals, and development needs of the consultant.
This is a hybrid role that requires 3 days per week in the office to work with a tight-knit team against demanding timelines to deliver the organization's business model.
Key Responsibilities:- Use the performance management process as a basis for engaging own consultants on development needs and areas for training.
- Develop relationships with each consultant and begin to be seen as a trusted advisor.
- Assist in directing consultants towards resources for career advice.
- Monitor for work-life-quality issues and escalate when needed.
- Collaborate with Human Capital Manager on managing the pyramid, training, onboarding, performance improvement initiatives.
- Understand at a high-level the nuances of the type of work/roles being filled.
- Liaise with project team leaders to understand staffing needs in your area.
- Anticipate capacity issues and manage consultants' and Partner expectations accordingly.
- Communicate staffing outcomes to consultants under your TM purview in an empathetic manner.
- Track mobility issues, holidays, trainings, background checks, and other ad-hoc staffing enabling tasks.
- Understand the performance management framework and competency model and how it applies to own consultant's situations.
- Coordinate with the Learning and Development team on appropriate training for your consultants.
- Read all performance appraisals and follow-up any issues/performance flags with project team and manager.
- Participate in project work within and adjacent to the broader Human Capital function on topics such as employee experience, retention, flexible working, utilization, performance, etc.
- Organize own work and display ability to guide colleagues in building project deliverables.
- Work on cross-Practice Group, Market, Regional teams to deliver special/ad-hoc assignment in a collaborative manner.
This role requires excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to tailor the message to fit the audience, self-motivation, proactivity, flexibility, and ownership of work. The successful candidate will have a strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
Requirements:- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience.
- 3-5 years of relevant professional experience in a fast-paced and dynamic client services business environment.
- Management consulting and/or Human Resources experience preferred.
The ideal candidate will have proven ability to establish and grow relationships at all levels within an organization, credible and highly professional, able to communicate and negotiate effectively while managing diverse personalities, cultures, and backgrounds.
