Position Overview

The focus of this role is to enhance the growth of Life Sciences Solutions, including products such as Embase, EmBiology, Reaxys, and PharmaPendium. This involves not only acquiring new clients but also nurturing existing relationships to ensure renewals and explore upselling and cross-selling opportunities. Your role will be pivotal in establishing and sustaining customer connections while utilizing both internal and external resources to stimulate growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Achieving revenue objectives for a suite of scientific databases and solutions, encompassing Solutions Products and Content Licensing.
  • Adopting a consultative sales methodology to comprehend client requirements and translate them into viable offerings that align with the company’s sales strategy.
  • Developing tailored strategies that respond to market demands, ensuring alignment with corporate policies, and executing account strategies that cater to diverse client needs.
  • Conducting annual account planning and collaborating with Account Managers as necessary.
  • Regularly reviewing sales performance and forecasts using analytical tools, adjusting strategies as needed.
  • Partnering with regional and federal government entities to initiate projects related to scientific databases and solutions.
  • Collecting, monitoring, and analyzing market information to provide feedback that enhances product development and market entry strategies.
  • Engaging in industry trade shows and conferences with predefined objectives.

Qualifications

  • A university degree, preferably a Master’s or equivalent in a relevant discipline.
  • Extensive experience in sales at senior levels, particularly in complex solution-selling environments.
  • Ability to operate at operational, tactical, and strategic levels, with a proven track record in expanding business within customer organizations.
  • Self-motivated and results-driven, with a history of successfully selling technology and solutions.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a passion for cultivating relationships with various stakeholders, including senior executives.
  • Experience in strategic account planning, with the ability to connect insights across customer institutions.
  • Background in selling enterprise software and navigating international matrixed organizations.
  • Familiarity with research administration and management functions.
  • Knowledge of regional or national research initiatives, collaboration networks, and key opinion leaders.
